Welcome to Warwick Baptist Church

Welcome to Warwick Baptist Church
4314 Virginia Rd, Hobbsville, NC 27946.   Church phone:  252-221-4375
Pastor:  Rev. Dr. Jeffery C. Russell

Who are we?   We are a small, Southern Baptist congregation situated on Virginia Road (NC 32-37) on the Gates-Chowan county line.  We're also close to the Perquimans line as well.   We're 5 miles south of Sunbury, 20 miles north of Edenton, and 10 miles east of Gatesville.  We may be a small church, but we have God-sized vision to proclaim Christ, to make disciples, and to make a difference.  We describe ourselves as a family of God building loving relationships so we can believe, live, and share.  We have been in existence since 1861 and were known until about 40 years ago as the Warwick Swamp Baptist Church.

What is our worship schedule?   Warwick Baptist meets each Sunday morning at 10:00 AM for Sunday School and 11:00 AM for worship.   We also meet  each Wednesday evening in person at 7:00PM for  Prayer and Bible Study, and continue on Facebook Live each week.  https://www.facebook.com/warwickbaptistlife

What is the morning worship like?  We conduct a "blended" style of worship utilizing traditional hymns and contemporary Christian praise/worship songs.  We also have a choir as well as soloists and ensemble singing for special music.   There is no "dress code" at Warwick Baptist,  so you will likely see people wearing business attire as well as neat and tasteful, casual clothing.  The important thing is that we don't look at the outside, but what is on the inside.   The pastor preaches a 25-30 minute message which is Christ-centered and Bible-oriented.  He also gives a 5-minute children's message before the children are dismissed for children's church (ages 3-7).

What are our mission activities?

BWOM (WMU) The women meet for Baptist Women on Mission the second Sunday of each month at 9:00am.  The WOM of the church host an extensive variety of missions projects locally and internationally.

Brotherhood:  The  Brotherhood men meet the first Sunday of each month at 7:30 AM for breakfast.  We are involved in mission trips, handyman ministry, building wheelchair ramps, supporting the Albemarle Family Resource center and a variety of other projects.

What is a Disciple?   A disciple of Jesus is one who follows Christ by loving God passionately and loving others selflessly.  Jesus teaches us to not only to be an attender, but a disciple who grows in his/her relationship with Him by abiding with Him by growing in the Word, in Prayer, in Fellowship, and in Witness.   We invite everyone to engage in disciple-making at various times throughout the year in person and online as we work through the Disciples Cross:

If you would like to grow as a disciple of Jesus, please let our Pastor know.
Our first Disciple's Cross course will be launched on Sunday, October 6 beginning at 5:00pm.   You may register on-line at Warwickbapt@gmail.com.

Who is our Pastor?  Rev. Dr. Jeffery Russell has been our Pastor since June 1, 2024.  He prefers to be called Pastor Jeff.   He and his wife Robin have been married since 1982 and have been in ministry together for well over 40 years.  They have 3 grown children and four grandchildren.   He is a graduate of Old Dominion University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Liberty University.  He is also a chaplain for the United States Coast Guard.  You are welcome to reach Pastor Jeff by email at warwickbapt@gmail.com
